Dress Code

This is a premiere intercollegiate event; as such, a reasonable Dress Code will be enforced.

  • Players must wear polo shirts or t-shirts depicting their school.  Preferably, these shirts will match each other.

  • Clean, rip-free jeans are acceptable. Shorts, cargo pants, sweat pants, and Capri pants are not acceptable. Pants that drag on the floor are not acceptable.

  • Clean, laced tennis shoes are acceptable. Casual sandals and flip-flops are not acceptable. Dressier sandals may be approved on a case-by-case basis.

  • Bare midriffs and excessive cleavage are not acceptable.

  • Hats are not acceptable.

  • This Dress Code applies to players, coaches, and advisors.

  • If a dress code violation is cited by the opposing team or the Tournament Director, after the start of the match, the individual cited will need to become compliant prior to their next match.  If the individual does not meet the dress code prior to the next match, that player's games will be forfeited.

General Rules:

The Radford University Team Pool Tournament will be using the BCA General, BCA Fouls, BCA 8-Ball, and BCA 10-Ball rules found on BCA-Pool.com unless otherwise noted below or in the event specific rules.

If a game is played to completion and the result is recorded, and it is later discovered that a ruling would have changed the outcome, the score recorded on the sheet will stand. The game will not be replayed; it is your responsibility to know the rules, or ask for clarification before proceeding.

Example: player made the 8-ball on the break; both players tallied this as a win. Some time later (but while the schools' match was still in progress), they were informed that making the 8-ball on the break is not a win. The TD ruled that the win, as recorded on the sheet, would stand. The player who pocketed the 8-ball on the break retained the bonus points and the win.

Magic racks will be used for the entirety of the tournament weekend, if available.

The shooter must call a timeout; other players on the team may ask if the shooter wants a coach. Likewise, the shooter must call for a referee when needed (teammates may not make this decision). If a teammate calls for a referee, one warning will be given. Thereafter, for the entire tournament, if a teammate from the same team calls for a referee when he is not the shooter, it will be an automatic foul.

Cue Ball Fouls Only:

Any accidental or intentional movement of the cue ball that does not constitute a legal shot by BCA rules or is not a part of placing the cue ball during ball-in-hand is a foul, ball-in-hand for the opposing player.  Any accidental movement of an object ball on the table will be handled in the following manner:

The player who moved the object ball must notify his or her opponent that a ball was moved.  The opposing player then must be given the option to return the moved ball to its original position (or as close to it as possible) or to leave the ball in its current position.  It is a foul if the first player (a) returns the ball to its original position without notifying his or her opponent, or (b) shoots without notifying his or her opponent.

If two or more balls are moved in this manner prior to a shot being made, a foul results with ball-in-hand for the opposing player, and the opposing player again receives the option to return the moved balls to their original positions or leave lie.

Accidentally moving a single object ball during a shot, causing the object ball to interfere with a legally struck object ball or cue ball, results in a foul and ball-in-hand for the opposing player. If the general area vacated by the moved object ball may have affected a shot (by a legally struck object ball, the cue ball, or the path of either or both), a foul results. The opponent has the option to replace the moved object ball to its original position or leave in the moved position (leave lie).

There are no bonus points accumulated during tie-breakers.
